Martha & H.L. Daugherty

In 2009, David L. Daugherty and the Daugherty Companies, Inc. created the Daugherty Family Scholarship in honor of long-time Warren business owners Martha and H. L. (Hack) Daugherty. The Daugherty family has always believed in helping their employees and local community strive to better themselves through hard work and education.

Founded in March of 1939, H.L. started Warren Farm Supply as a retail farm equipment dealership selling the J.I. Case farm equipment line. Additional lines added to the dealership included New Idea, New Holland, Massey-Harris and Ferguson. Shortly after World War II, Westinghouse appliances and Shell Oil Products were added. In the mid-1950s, H.L. became a manufacturer’s representative and sold the retail establishment.

In the early 1960s, David joined the company and the wholesale business was expanded into a distributorship. Over the years, the products and lines have changed but the company has remained committed to serving their customer base with quality products and friendly, efficient service. Currently, the company focuses on agricultural electronics, specializing in GPS equipment for farmers and manufacturing electronic devices and wiring harnesses for farm equipment.

First preference for the Daugherty Family Scholarship is given to an employee, retired employee, or a descendant of an employee of The Daugherty Companies, Inc. Second preference is given to Warren, IN residents who major in agriculture. David continues to serve as an advisor on the Daugherty Scholarship committee.
