The Community Foundation of Huntington County is honored to announce the creation of the Tiffany Albertson Memorial Scholarship Fund. One of the greatest privileges of the Community Foundation is holding funds that preserve the memory of donors and loved ones.

The endowment fund was created to memorialize Tiffany Albertson’s longstanding dedication to education as a high school teacher and administrator. Albertson served as principal of Bishop Luers High School, assistant principal of Bishop Dwenger High School and as a chemistry and biology teacher at both Bishop Dwenger High School and Huntington North High School. She was passionate about serving others and gained admiration from students and colleagues for her empathetic approach in education.

Albertson graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1985, and then earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis and her master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Based on a steadfast dedication to her career, Albertson received the Mother Theodore Guerin Award for excellence in school administration from the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.

When she wasn’t serving students on school grounds, Albertson could be found traveling and spending time with her beloved husband, Tim; three sons, Nicholas, Nathan and Michael; and daughter, Savannah. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington.

Following her passing on August 15, 2024, the Tiffany Albertson Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by Tiffany’s family to honor her legacy and continue her investment in the lives of students.

“We are honored to work with the Albertson family and preserve Tiffany’s passion for education and unwavering commitment to her students,” says Matt Ditzler, Community Foundation Executive Director. “This memorial scholarship will serve as annual reminder of how dedicated educators impact our community.”

The scholarship will be open to graduating seniors from Huntington North High School, Bishop Luers High School and Bishop Dwenger High School that intend to pursue a science-related career path as a scientist and/or educator. Preference shall be given to qualified students attending universities and colleges affiliated with the Catholic Church. The scholarship application will open in January 2025 as part of the Community Foundation’s universal scholarship application process.
