In 2022, we announced our pilot hometown grant program in Warren that would provide up to $5,000 total to organizations serving Warren residents each year for three years. We’re now entering the third year of this program, which has been highly successful. The grants given through this program have helped launch the Little Rebel Store at Salamonie Elementary School, supported the Warren Chapter of the Boys and Girls Club, and provided funds for Historic Warren Main Street.
At the same time the grant program was announced, the Community Foundation announced the establishment of the Warren Hometown Endowment Fund. With the creation of the fund, the Foundation offered a $1 for $1 match on contributions to the fund up to $25,000. We’re excited to announce that the match has been met! However, we’ve decided to extend the match for up to another $25,000! The goal is to build the Warren Hometown Endowment Fund to $100,000 to fund the Warren Hometown Grant Program in perpetuity.
To contribute to the Warren Hometown Endowment fund by credit card, go to our donate page and select the fund from the drop-down list. Check contributions to the fund can be made payable to Community Foundation of Huntington County, P.O. Box 5037 Huntington, IN 46750. Please write “Warren Hometown Fund” on the memo line.
Organizations that serve Warren and its residents who wish to apply for the Hometown Grant can do so through our online grant application portal beginning March 1st.
