Alexandra Forsythe, senior at Eagle Academy high school, has been named one of two 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship finalists for Huntington County. As such, Alexandra will receive $1,500 scholarships for each of her four years of undergraduate study provided by the Huntington County Community Foundation.
Forsythe is the daughter of Cheryl and John Forsythe of Huntington. She has been accepted to attend numerous schools majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering plus minors in Computer Science and Math. She plans to pursue a Master of Science Degree in either Electrical or Computer Engineering, earn her PhD, and teach at the college level.
A leader and multiple award winner in 4-H, Forsythe is also involved in a Ballroom Dance Troupe, Purdue Sci-TEC, Skiing and Snowboarding group, classical piano, photography, a Laser Tag league and Paintball team captain, as well as a book club. Her volunteer service includes Huntington County Extension Office, Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva, American Library Association, Dyslexic Kids officer, Indiana Audubon Society, U.S. Geological Survey, Science Central Museum planning committee, Indiana Academy of Science, R4B Foundation board member, and spokesperson for Midwest R2 Builders Group.
