Four years ago, Huntington County’s 2013 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar Kayla Patrick dreamed of working in the aerospace industry. After two summer internships and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, she is nearly a month away from starting her career as an aerospace engineer.

In Kayla’s original Lilly Scholarship application, her ultimate goal was to have “a career at Boeing or Rolls-Royce.” She wanted to make a difference in the world by making aircraft safer for people in Indiana and around the world. She made good on this goal by completing internships with the Boeing Company in Montana during the summer of 2015 and in Washington during the summer of 2016. Now graduated, she heads back to Washington soon to start her career at the Boeing Company.

We are very proud of Kayla for the accomplishments she has achieved while serving as Huntington County’s 2013 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar. She has and will continue to be a great representation of Huntington County, Indiana. Good luck Kayla on your next adventure!
