Zachary Lippe, senior at Huntington North High School, has been named one of two 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship finalists for Huntington County. As such, Zachary will receive $1,500 scholarships for each of his four years of undergraduate study provided by the Huntington County Community Foundation.
Lippe is the son of Jody and Chad Lippe of Huntington. He has been accepted by numerous schools and plans on majoring in Actuarial Science, including a minor in Statistics, with the goal of working as an actuary. He also plans to keep his passion for music alive, but not as a career path.
While at HNHS Lippe has participated in Marching Band, Academic Super Bowl Math Team, Student Council, Math Tutoring, Huntington Youth Leadership Academy, Freshmen Mentoring, National Honor Society, IPFW Three Rivers Honor Band, and Class Council. In addition, he has perfect school attendance through his first three years at HNHS. His community service has included the Huntington City Township Public Library, Catholics in Action Youth Group, baking for Open Door food ministry, and serving as a teacher assistant and in church ministry at Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
