Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) has made a $15,000 donation to the Huntington County Emergency Relief Fund in partnership with the United Way of Huntington County and Huntington County Community Foundation.
“We know that organizations’ requests will be great, and this donation represents a small part of the resources needed but we are happy to do our part for the local community” says Jason Shanks, President of the OSV Institute. “We hope that this donation gives assistance to our local brothers and sisters in need during this pandemic.”
Contributions to the Emergency Relief Fund can be made by check payable to the Huntington County Community Foundation with Emergency Relief in the memo line or online at www.huntingtonccf.org/relief. Donations are still being matched $2 to $1, tripling the impact of your donation.
“Donors like OSV inspire us all to give of our time, talent and treasure during this time of crisis,” says Kyle Metzger, President/CEO of United Way and Matt Ditzler, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “We will all get through this together and we thank everyone who is doing their part to help those in need within our community.”
Nearly $50,000 has already been given out to local organizations providing food assistance, childcare, transitional housing and medical care to those in need in Huntington County. Organizations serving Huntington County can apply for emergency funding at www.huntingtonccf.org/relief-grant.
OSV Institute – In 1915, Fr. John Francis Noll began the OSV Institute to extend the reach of Our Sunday Visitor in service and support of Catholic organizations. With over $80 million returned to Catholic organizations to date, the OSV Institute continues to serve the Church by supporting and encouraging innovative and effective Church-related programs and activities. Three areas of special interest for funding are Re-Captivating Millennials, Hispanic Experience and Supporting Parents. In 2017 the Institute expanded its reach to provide support for new innovation and to serve as an incubator for new efforts supporting the Catholic Church. Learn more at www.osvinstitute.com.
