Every fall, the Huntington County Community Foundation awards classroom education grants to local teachers seeking funding to implement a program or project in their classroom that is innovative, designed to stimulate learning, and helps the educator meet state standards.

This past semester, Crestview Middle School art teacher Liesl Haupert taught her students the basics of stained glass cutting, assembling, soldering and finishing with the addition of necessary safety glasses, soldering irons, pliers, and glass cutters made possible by the First Federal Savings Bank Community Fund held at the Huntington County Community Foundation.

Mrs. Haupert commented, “It has been a joy for me to work with so many students on this collaborative project. Without the Huntington County Community Foundation grant, it would not have been possible. The students were very eager to participate in this project and are excited for their work to be permanently displayed.”
