The Community Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Andrews Hometown Endowment Fund. With successful Hometown Funds currently established in Warren and Markle, the Foundation looks forward to expanding this impactful program into Andrews during 2025. The Foundation would like to recognize valued donors, Tim and Donna Deal, whose generosity and initial contribution launched the creation of the fund.
The fund will serve to support projects, initiatives and community events within the Andrews community. The Hometown programs are overseen by a committee of local members of the respective hometown. During its yearly grant cycle, funding goes directly toward hometown initiatives at the committee’s discretion.
“The Andrews Hometown Endowment will serve as a permanent supporter for quality-of-life projects in the Andrews community,” says Matt Ditzler, Community Foundation Executive Director. “We are excited to work with donors and citizens to build up this fund and preserve our shared love and passion for Andrews in perpetuity.”
So far, grants awarded through the Markle and Warren Hometown Endowment Funds have supported Markle Park upgrades, helped launch the Little Rebel Store at Salamonie Elementary School, supported the Warren Chapter of the Boys and Girls Club and provided funds for Historic Warren Main Street. The Foundation is looking forward to how the Andrews Hometown Endowment Fund will undoubtably impact the Andrews Community.
As the Andrews Hometown Fund becomes established, donations will be matched $1 for $1 until the fund reaches $100,000. The first Andrews Hometown Grant application process will open on March 1st, 2025. Grants are available to all organizations or projects that benefit the Town of Andrews and its residents. A total of $5,000 in grant funding will be available each year for the next three years of the program.
